Default Bring back heroes in guild hall

In this latest update, anet removed heroes from pvp and as such, made it impossible for heroes to be added to the party in guild hall and in ha. I have no problem with the henchmen idea just so we have that clear.

My problem is that guild halls are widely used for much more than GVG. I would assume that a far greater amount of people use the guild hall to meet up with their allies in order to play other aspects of the game. Since this new update players will now have the inconvenience of having no heroes in their party while in the hall. Another drawback is that no longer can a player simply go to guild hall and sort their hero's skills out or change runes, weapons etc.

My idea for a simple solution: allow heroes in guild hall, but disable the enter guild battle button while heroes are in a party, or something that has a similar effect.

What do you guys think?

Way to F*** up Anet. I'm not a fan of wading through giant assed outposts and massive trade spam to rune and equip my heroes, need something reasonably small and unpopulated.

Allow a way to specify a "PvE Guildhall" which:

1) Lists the PvE versions of skills
2) Allows heroes
3) Does NOT allow GvG

This recent change is terrible for PvEers.

i agree with Taddayo Kun and Gennadios. i like to sit in gh and sort out my hero's builds and armor etc.

Read it, vote yes, help bring to ArenaNet's awareness the fact that most of us do not GvG and actually use our GH for PvE preparation and the like.

not a PvE v PvP issue for me, I use my heroes for storage {weapons/runes} more then anything.
Now I will be forced to go to a town full of spammers to sort through what I have stored on them or to get things for others to use in GvGs?

It would have made more sense to not allow them into the battles then to ban them from guildhalls IMO.

Please change this.

I'm /signing this, too.

I've just recently posted the following on the official wiki's game update talk page. I don't know much about wiki organization, so it may get moved to some more appropriate feedback page later.
Quote:
I have no problem with disallowing heroes in PvP. But it's shortsighted to restrict us from adding them to team in Guild Halls. All my friends and I use our halls as staging areas. Having all the NPC's handy makes checking and outfitting heroes quite convenient in the guild hall. Gathering friends together for PvE excursions is most easily done in Guild Halls, and it's nice to be able to put heroes on the empty slots while we're all there and planning our approach. I find it hard to believe that my friends and I are in a minority - the guild halls are used by many PvE players like this. Please change it to restrict actual GvG battles from using heroes, but let us add heroes to the party in the guild hall again. Also, please let us continue to scrimmage with heroes, as that comes in quite handy now and then when testing theories with the help of a friend or two. Thanks.
The two big things this update broke for me and my friends are ...
- Inability to stage PvE teams which include heroes in our Guild Halls
- Inability to theory-test by scrimmaging against another friend and heroes.

People may say that we can always go stage for PvE in a PvE town, to which I respond, "Well, it was a lot easier in Guild Halls which we sunk lots of cash to have all the PvE npc services accessible." And now the theory-testing with scrimmages will be much harder if you need a player to run each test bar.

Being able to switch the Guild Hall from PvE to PvP mode would be great for theory testing, but I'd be happy if they simply gave back the two features this update took away.

I have to agree, removing heroes from the GH is a bad idea. Now I have to leave the GH to swap weapons or change skills. From the GH, the only available posts to go to are crowded towns that take forever to load in. The last thing I want to do is sit in town while creating a new build. Much easier to do that in your GH where you don't have a hundred people spamming and emoting. I think a better option would be to remove the Guild Battle button if you have heroes in your party.

Missions in Nightfall have a hero requirement, and there are many instances where mission entry is forbidden if a party member fails to meet a condition.

Add a condition that forbids entry of the entire party into GvG combat if the party includes any heroes, and you are done.

I use my guild hall to equip and change heroes, or zone there with heroes for various reasons, and this is extremely annoying. I also have PvP mule characters that have items equipped on heroes that I use to store. None of my characters may access these items I've stored on heroes while in the guild hall.

Am I rly that smart or..

They can just disable heroes in gvg/ha right? :/

Like when you try to enter gvg with heroes in party a message pops up

*click* You can't enter the mission with heroes in your party.

I strongly suggest that Anet reverse this until a proper solution can be found.
I rarely get upset about updates and such. In fact last time I was upset is when the faces got screwed up when lip syncing was added. I have been very supportive about Anet and their decisions.
However this update is extremely upsetting. My guild is a pve guild. We use our GH as a staging area for missions. This includes the use of Heroes.
The fact that we can not add our Heroes or tweak their builds in our own Guild Hall is basically a slap in the face towards pve guilds. I know that was not the intention of the Devs at Anet, but that is what it is.
Anet you must do the right thing and reverse this until you can find a fix.

/signed. bring back heros in guildhall.

I think there's actually no need to gray out the "Enter Guild Battle" button. All there is needed is rather than "remove heroes" while "entering the guild hall", make it so "remove heroes" upon "clicking the "Enter Guild Battle" button".

Or, even better, make it like Nightfall you have to talk to a NPC to start mission. With a NPC dialog box, you can do all sorts of error-checks or remove heroes or whatnot over there.

this is absolutely awful, in terms of convenience. i've been through various updates before that i wasn't happy with, but i can't remember being this frustrated about anything in GW before.

Anet, good job at messing things up once again. Its understandable to want to remove the heroes from GvG, but from the GH too, sounds pretty lazy.

And to the person who made the lemons referance:
